Joseph Nypaver

Joseph J. Nypaver, Esquire has been a civil trial lawyer representing exclusively those injured because of the carelessness of others since he graduated from law school in 1987. He has represented people throughout central Pennsylvania who have been injured in automobile collisions, motorcycle wrecks and defective products. Joe has also represented consumers against insurance companies committing bad faith in the handling of  insurance claims.

In addition to having successfully handled cases in various county courts in south-western and south-central Pennsylvania, Attorney Nypaver has successfully presented cases before the Superior Court, Commonwealth Court and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania as well as the United States District Courts for the Western and Middle Districts. He is a long-time member of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice (formerly the Pennsylvania Trial Lawyers Association).  He is also a member of the Blair County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.

Attorney Nypaver has volunteered his free time to several local charitable organizations including the Salvation Army Worship Center in Altoona, the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society, and the United Way of Blair County. He served as President of the United Way in 1997-98. Joe has also served as an Instructor in the Paralegal Program at the Altoona Campus of Penn State University.

Joe was married to his wife Sandy in 1992 and they reside in Hollidaysburg. He is also an member of the Blair County Chapter of Trout Unlimited, and served as a volunteer with Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing (PHWFF) for wounded and disabled military veterans.

In 2012 Joe Nypaver became involved as a volunteer speaker with EndDD.org, an organization focused on bringing awareness to the dangers and destruction of distracted driving. Joe has given more than 75 presentations to over 4,000 young drivers throughout Blair County.
